The influence of Oklahoma musicians and their music will be explored and highlighted in the film, featuring memorable shows and events at the ballroom throughout the years with film and video footage, photographs and interviews. We will introduce a global audience to the phenomenon of Cain’s Ballroom as a cultural treasure set in the very center of America’s heartland: Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Tulsa is recently being touted as the next music city destination.
We look forward to helping promote Tulsa and Oklahoma to the world with this film. We plan on screening the film at festivals around the world, a theatrical run in select US cities and world wide distribution online, showcasing Tulsa’s and Cain’s rich contributions to popular music culture the world over.
The current climate in Tulsa is perfect for completing this film project with OKPOP being built across the street from Cain’s to house Bob Wills’ collection including his restored tour bus, along with so many other collections of Oklahoma pop culture icons. Tulsa is now home to The Woody Guthrie Center, The Bob Dylan Center, the BOK Center, and Leon Russell’s Church Studio which is currently being restored on Tulsa’s new Studio Row. These institutions work in conjunction. It’s Tulsa’s Time to shine in an international spotlight. No longer the middle of nowhere, it’s now the middle of everywhere…Tulsa is now seriously poised to be a music city destination.
